Day 1: Arrive Amsterdam, Embark Ship
Begin your seven-night cruise in Amsterdam among the city’s grand network of canals. Then it’s on to Germany, where well-preserved medieval towns meld into the picturesque landscape.
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Amsterdam, Embark Ship
On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your river ship. This evening, meet your Cruise Director and fellow passengers at a Welcome Reception.
Day 2: Amsterdam, Utrecht
Amsterdam’s network of 17th-century canals lends the city its nickname – The Venice of the North. Board a glass-top boat and glide through Amsterdam’s maze of waterways with a local guide. Afterwards, enjoy some free time to explore this lively city. Later, travel by coach to Utrecht, via Rembrandt’s Windmill. From here, your ship will set off along the Rhine as you prepare for tonight’s special Gala Dinner.
Day 3: Cologne, Bruhl
Arrive in Cologne, where the twin spires of the Kolner Dom fill the skyline. Disembark and take the short drive to Bruhl, where your Insider Experience awaits.
Day 4: Rhine Gorge, Rudesheim
Today, experience a true highlight of your holiday – cruising through the Rhine Gorge. Later, your ship will dock in Rudesheim, a pretty Rhine Valley wine town. The Winzerexpress mini-train will take you to Siegfried’s Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum, which houses a beautiful collection of automated musical instruments.
Day 5: Miltenberg
Today, arrive in the quaint town of Miltenberg. Perfectly positioned at the confluence of the Tauber and Main rivers, Miltenberg is home to charming half-timbered houses and beautiful squares. Later this evening, enjoy a superb dinner on board.
Day 6: Wurzburg
After breakfast, board a coach and travel through green hills and rich vineyards to Wurzburg. Admire its baroque palace and the Wurzburg Residence. A walk through Wurzburg Court Garden allows you to soak in the atmosphere. Later, you may wish to take an optional journey to the medieval town of Rothenburg.
Day 7: Bamberg
Arrive in Bamberg this morning. This town offers authentic charm, having survived World War II largely unscathed. Today you can choose to embark on a guided tour of the town, visiting sites such as the Bamberg Cathedral, or spend the afternoon at your leisure. Later this evening, your ship will reach the Main-Danube Canal.
Day 8: Nuremberg, Disembark Ship, Depart Munich
After breakfast today, disembark your ship in Nuremberg and be transferred to the airport in Munich.
